In Memory of Dulcinea
April 18, 1999 - August 17, 2008
Dulcinea was a bay Peruvian Paso mare. She had two foals a buckskin colt and a bay filly.
On Sunday, August 10th 2008 Dulcinea showed signs of colic. Our vet came out and it was determined that she was in need of surgery and she was taken to Va Tech. She had the first surgery that afternoon but did not do well, on Tuesday it was determined that she needed another surgery. This surgery revealed that the first surgery had not been complete due to a malfunctioning tool. She did much better for the second surgery and was improving until Friday night. On Saturday, she had a rough day and on Sunday we consented to a third surgery. Dulcinea never woke up from this surgery. She had multiple problems and could not recover. The decision was made and she will no longer suffer. Dulcinea was laid to rest on the farm that evening.
Dulcinea thank you for enriching our lives these nine years. We will always miss you.
